I’ve been working on a new Digg like site for performing arts news built on the Pligg platform. I built a site on Pligg for Local Nights Out recently to be used as a review system so this is the second time i’ve used Pligg now. This new site will work the same way as Digg in that users submit stories or blog posts and other users “vote” on them. Stories that receive enough votes will then be promoted to the front page.
The difference between this new site and Digg (and others) is that this site is specifically for perfoming arts news. I’ve not yet come across another site that is specifically for this. Categories that will be on the site are theatre, panto, gigs, opera, ballet and venues. The site should be ready for launch later today. If you have any suggestions for other categories or anything else let me know.
