Yesterday I said I would post today about the first site I had put together using Joomla. I should have thought about it before opening my mouth so to speak because there isn’t really alot to say. The site is www.cheaplondontheatrebreaks.com.
It’s built on Joomla 1.5 and I am actually quite impressed with it. There are some good features/modules that come built in that I like such as the ability to display random “articles” as they call them on the homepage, banner management and a “tell a friend” feature that can be used to email someone a link to the site.
As I said I do like the fact that the tell a friend feature is built in but i have also added another tell a friend module, which is alot easier to see, based on the Social Twist service. This enables you to not only email a link to any page to a friend by typing in their address but also by logging in to your Google mail, Microsoft mail or Yahoo mail and selecting from your address book. You can also send the link via instant messenger programmes and send to Facebook or Twitter.
The only other changes I think I made were to add a Google sitemap by use of another module and to add Google Analytics code and Google and Yahoo verification meta tags.
I’m quite pleased with the outcome. Take a look for yourself and see what you think.
