Iliotibial Band Syndrome

I’ve been to a physio about the problem I’ve been having with the knee pain and he thinks I am probably suffering from Iliotibial Band syndrome.

The Iliotibial Band is a thick band of fibrous tissue that runs down the outside of the leg. The pain is caused by this band rubbing over the outside of the knee joint.

This is still causing me a problem and stopping me from training and tomorrow is 12 weeks until my 10 mile run for charity.

The physio has given me some specific stretching exercises to do so I hope they make a difference real soon so I can get on with some hard training.
